Paul Timofei / Case din București

În perioada 21 noiembrie – 8 decembrie 2017, Galeria Romană are plăcerea de a vă invită la expozi?ia „Case din Bucureşti” a pictorului Paul Timofei. Vernisajul are loc marți, 21 noiembrie, începând cu ora 19:00, în bd. Lascăr Catargiu, nr 1, sector 1, București (Piața Romană).

Preocupat în general de peisaj, artistul propune lucrări semnificative din perioada 2007 – 2017 ce au ca temă casele vechi ale orașului şi ambianţa lor.

După şcoala Romei, cu care intră în contact timp de doi ani ca bursier Vasile Pârvan, vechiul Bucureștiului este privit cu admiraţie, gravitate şi nostalgie, devine un subiect valoros şi fertil, pictat cu intenţia clară de a păstra memoria lucrurilor care nu au pierit încă.

„(…) În picturile lui Paul Timofei există o apropiere între Roma şi Bucureşti prin ruine. Ruine prestigioase, admirate de o lume întreagă în cazul Romei şi, desigur, ceva mai modeste în cazul Bucureştiului, dar totuşi frumoase. Şi tocmai aceasta face P. Timofei prin arta sa: să sesizeze tocmai frumuseţea acestor ruine, pe care le restituie splendorii lor adevărate. (…) Un demers care poate fi definit ca o operă de recuperare a patrimoniului.” (Th. „(…) Peisajele lui Paul Timofei sunt embleme ale unui loc, deşi norma de perfecţiune preferată aici nu implică ?i candorile plăcerii comune. O biserică situată lângă o casă în care se locuia pe vremea regilor, structurile verzi ale viţei de vie şi ale iederii, incinte private, toate aşezate într-un cadru insuficient. În fond, un radicalism al alegerii ce desparte această recuzită urbană de restul caduc, balastul contemporan.” (B. Vlăduţă)

„(…) Peisajele Bucureştilor apar ca o Romă esenţială, cu aerul unei naturi moarte sărace, dar fără puterea de a mai renaşte. Paul Timofei ne propune contemplarea lor ultimă, un impas final unde edificii ruinate, cu ambrazuri negre, case cu coloane, frontoane şi statuară romană, unde frumuseţea şi binele unui oraş se înrudesc strâns cu dezastrul şi crima.” (B. Paul Timofei / Houses in Bucharest

Between November 21 and December 8, 2017, Galeria Romană is pleased to present you the exhibition „Houses of Bucharest” by painter Paul Timofei. The opening is on Tuesday, November 21, starting at 19:00, in bd. Lascăr Catargiu, No. 1, sector 1, Bucharest (Piața Romană).

Concerned about the landscape in general, the artist proposes significant works from 2007 – 2017, which have as a theme the old houses of the city and their ambience.

After the school of Rome, with which he has been in contact for two years as scholar Vasile Pârvan, the old Bucharest is regarded with admiration, gravity and nostalgia, becomes a valuable and fertile subject, painted with the clear intention of preserving the memory of the things that do not have still perished.

„(…) In the paintings of Paul Timofei there is an approchement between Rome and Bucharest through ruins. Prestigious ruins, admired by a whole world in the case of Rome and, of course, some modest in the case of Bucharest, but still beautiful. And it is precisely this that makes P.Timofei, through his art: to grasp the beauty of these ruins, which he returns to their true splendors. „(…) The landscapes of Paul Timofei are emblems of a place, although the preferred perfection rule here does not imply the ancestry of common pleasure. A church near a house where the kings were living, the green structures of the vine and the ivy, private enclosures, all set in an insufficient setting. In fact, a radicalism of the choice separating this urban props from the rest of the caducus, the contemporary ballast. „(B. Vlăduţă)

„(…) The landscapes of Bucharest appear as an essential Rome, with the air of a poorly dead nature, but without the power of rebirth. Paul Timofei proposes their ultimate contemplation, a final impasse where ruined edifices, black embrasures, houses with columns, fronton and Roman statue, where the beauty and good of a city are closely related to disaster and crime. „(B.
